Dharma 2 Classical (mat) Yoga: appropriate for all experience levels
Date: Friday, November 11, 5:30-7pm

The classical yoga source for the Unnata method, Dharma 2 Yoga is a graceful, yet challenging form of Hatha yoga, drawn from Sri Dharma Mittra’s 50+ years of classical yoga practice. The Dharma 2 sequence of asanas is an intermediate series, meant to transition students from a beginner level of practice to a more advanced level. It can easily be “dialed up” or “dialed down,” to suit individual students’ physical capabilities. Michelle will infuse this traditional yoga class with alignment lessons learned through her use of an aerial yoga hammock over the past 16 years. Please note: this is a traditional mat yoga class.

Unnata Low Hammock Aerial Yoga: appropriate for all experience levels
Date: Saturday, November 12, 11am-1pm

The Unnata method interweaves use of the hammock as a tool to support traditional Yoga postures. When we lower the hammock to only 1.5 feet from the floor, the now partial support from the hammock creates a unique balance between restorative yoga and a more active yoga flow class, between traditional floor yoga and an aerial yoga class. Learn how to balance the two extremes of your own mind and energy body, through balancing these two very different ways to practice yoga.

More accessible to the average student than its “standard hammock height” aerial yoga cousin, this workshop is open to all skill levels, and will include only partial inversions.

WarriorOne

Smooth Flow Aerial Yoga Master Class: appropriate for all experience levels
Date: Saturday, November 12, 3-6pm

At the start of this master class, we will learn positions and transitions that use complex wraps of the hammock and/or challenge our proprioception. Then after a quick break, Michelle will lead you through an aerial yoga sequence that incorporates the items you just learned. Through learning the “tricky bits” ahead of time, your mind can relax into a smoothly-flowing sequence.

BackStraddle

Inversions/Backbends Aerial Yoga Master Class: some experienced suggested
Date: Sunday, November 13, 11am-1pm

Inversions and Backbends (sometimes called, Heart-Openers) may seem like very different categories of yoga positions. However, both require a strong and stable core in order to find comfort and ease within the pose(s). Inversions require the core to be strong to prevent spinal folding, and Backbends require the core to be strong to avoid strain when the spine does bend and fold.

Two of the primary reasons to practice yoga with a hammock are because the hammock makes getting into and out of inversions easy, and usually challenging backbends become comfortable. We’ll take advantage of these hammock qualities. And, through weaving the hammock into our practice of these yoga position groups, we will develop core strength and stability in a unique and totally fun way!

Advanced Sequence Unnata Aerial Yoga: Aerial Yoga Teachers and Advanced Students
Date: Sunday, November 13, 3-4:30pm

Specially designed for aerial yoga teachers and advanced level aerial yoga students, we’ll move through a fun and challenging sequence using the Unnata method of aerial yoga.
