Unnata Aerial Yoga was born of Michelle Dortignac’s 20+ years of yogic teaching, meditation practice, and movement and aerial arts performance. It is a comprehensive discipline, grounded in yogic tradition, that offers challenge and change for your whole being – body, mind and spirit.
Unnata Aerial Yoga
In an Unnata Aerial Yoga class, a slow progression of postures and movements gently introduce your body to the hammock. Through this slow progression, your body and mind both are prepared to fully release and enjoy the benefits of hanging once you get there.
In the mini-class videos below, Michelle demonstrates a 15 minute sample of an Unnata Aerial Yoga class. These videos are shot in real-time, (one long take) so you can get a sense of how classes truly flow, illustrating the types of postures and the reasons why we do them in an Unnata Aerial Yoga class.
Mini Class 1: Intro to Aerial Yoga
Mini Class 3: Hip Hang/Single Ankle Twist
Mini Class 2: Dropping back to wheel
Mini Class 5: Full Class in 15 mins
Unnatips are short videos (1-2 minutes) focusing on one specific Aerial Yoga tip, concept, or position. The Unnatips library offers teaching tips, new aerial yoga movements and positions to try, along with refinements (details) to familiar aerial yoga movements. Unnatips are a quick and fun way to continue learning, stay inspired, and to keep classes fresh.
The Unnatips library is part of the continuing education materials available only to Unnata Teacher Training graduates. Four example Unnatips are given below.
Leg Lifts With Arm Strength
Nosetip Meditation
Uttanasana Leaning Twist
