Uplift and Celebrate Yogic Tradition!
Workshop Overview
Creativity and innovation in aerial yoga abounds! But the higher we go, the less grounded we become, and we lose connection to some of the most beneficial parts of traditional yoga postures. This workshop will teach you how to use your aerial yoga skills to support traditional floor yoga positions, so that you can also experience the calm, centered quality traditional yoga postures are so good at providing, and all of us desperately need!
Workshop Content
This livestream workshop will teach you how to use the hammock to access and bring levity to the most difficult yoga postures pulled from 5 of our Guided Aerial Yoga Practice recordings. At the end of the livestream, select which of the five guided aerial yoga classes you’d like to receive for a future practice on your own. (All guided aerial yoga practice classes are on-demand streaming from our website.)
Long-Term Benefits
The practice of Hatha yoga has lasted for over 2,000 years specifically because it brings health to the mind as well as the body. Avoid having your aerial yoga classes slip into fitness trend fizzle by bringing the enduring qualities of traditional yoga into your aerial yoga routine.
Enroll In: Hammock Assisted Yoga
Unnata® Aerial Yoga is the original aerial yoga method created by a yogi, for students (and teachers) who love yoga. The Unnata method weaves use of the hammock into a traditional Hatha Yoga class to enhance and refine a traditional floor yoga practice. Considered more of a “supported” yoga class than an “aerial” yoga class, students unwind old physical patterns, reset their body’s true alignment, and learn deeper body awareness in multi-dimensional space. Unnata Yoga classes ground as much as elevate, and balance both earth and air.
Unnata is real Yoga, elevated.
Michelle Dortignac, founder of Unnata® Aerial Yoga, is credited with developing the genre of aerial yoga. She is an E-RYT 500 certified Yoga instructor of 25 years, while during a large portion of those years also being a professional aerial acrobatics performer. Her most influential Yoga teachers include Dharma Mittra, Alan Finger, Cyndi Lee, Susan Braham and Nishit Patel.
Since its inception in 2006, Unnata Aerial Yoga led the growth of popularity and the continued development of aerial yoga. Today the Unnata Aerial Yoga Teacher Training program is world renowned for its high standards, high-quality training which keeps yogic traditions at the forefront. Participants receive large amounts of personalized instruction, and graduates receive a great amount of continuing support.
